For more than 120 years, 4-H has proven itself to be a successful positive youth development model, thriving in more than 70 countries around the world.
The Asia 4-H Network is a regional organization that promotes youth development and agricultural education in Asia. It is part of the larger 4-H movement, which originated in the United States and has spread to numerous countries around the world. The 4-H movement is based on the idea of “learning by doing,” and it aims to empower young people to become engaged, responsible, and well-rounded citizens. The name “4-H” represents the organization’s fourfold development of Head, Heart, Hands, and Health. The Asia 4-H Network brings together 4-H organizations from different Asian countries to share resources, and best practices, and collaborate on youth development initiatives. The network provides a platform for member organizations to exchange ideas, organize regional events, and foster cross-cultural understanding among young people.
Every three years, the Asia 4-H Network brings together members, leaders, and professionals to network and share best practices, thereby strengthening the 4-H movement. The inaugural Asia 4-H Network Summit was held in South Korea in 2012, followed by the second summit also in Korea 2017, 3rd summit in 2020 was conducted virtually due COVID 19 crisis and the 4th summit in 2023 at Taiwan. This year marks the 5th edition of the summit, continuing the legacy of impactful discussions and collaborations initiated in previous gatherings by the Asia 4-H Network.
The Asia 4-H Network is a regional branch of the global 4-H movement, dedicated to empowering youth through experiential learning. With a focus on leadership, entrepreneurship, environmental sustainability, and community development, the network connects 4-H organizations across Asia to share best practices, resources, and collaborative initiatives. 4-H Nepal, established in 2014, aims to empower youth and promote positive development through life skills education, agricultural initiatives, climate change awareness, and policy advocacy.
